Patricia, owner of Elsa Ceramics, sold her community pottery studio in Mississippi, but needed a space at home to continue her art. She wanted the space to be unique and creative, yet fit with her existing house. Natural light was crucial! We designed a "shed" that is beautiful to look at, inside and out, maintains privacy for Patricia and her neighbors, is full of natural light, AND can be easily converted into a guest house in the future. How?? The kiln room has been designed and plumbed to be a future bathroom, the storage under the stairs can convert to a kitchenette, and the studio space can be a living room/bedroom. Like all great architecture, this beautiful building not only functions for the present, but is also designed for the future.
